This song is taken from the poetry of Triana Reyes. At the time I figured it might have been intended about someone else, but in hindsight, perhaps the poem was about me. Or perhaps I'm a bit vain.
Anyhow, I liked the poem and changed a few words to make it rhyme and wrote a chorus. The result? The slowest fully produced country song on the album. One of the most emotional, too.
lyrics
Bleed Me Dry
of everything
watch me cry
don't wipe my tears
hear my sigh
then walk away
bleed me dry
from a distance
Bleed me dry
from a distance
How I cry
but it's okay
I know the lie is over now
bleed me dry
from a distance
if you traveled a million miles away
my heart would still be broken
and you might hear me say
Bleed me dry
I don't feel anymore
still ask why
but I get no reply
thought I'd die
but here I am
Bleed me Dry
from a distance
if you traveled a million miles away
my heart would still be broken
and you might hear me say
Bleed me dry
and bleed me dry
till I'm all gone
please carry on
and bleed me dry
